That's it all, hope you enjoyed it.
Thanks for taking the time to look in over the last few years, it's been fun but time to go....
Cheers..Pete

KATOOMBA ROCKABILLY AND HOT ROD FESTIVAL
Our annual photos of Katoomba Hot Rod show from Dave Blamey. The event is held in the Blue Mountains in Australia an area hit badly by forest fires in the last year. Again it was a big success pumping much needed funds back into the towns economy.

INVADER WHEELS FOR SALE
Original late '70s early '80s Invaders, 16" rear x 3.5"J and 19" front x 2.5"J. Come with good bearings and flanges to take Harley discs/sprocket. Rear is good chrome (but not mint) and has had two welds on inside but doesn't look to have ever been damaged. Front has fair chrome but a few rusty marks, worst one shown in photo, again no signs of damage. £650 the pair inc post to UK, shipping outside of UK will be extra at cost.

SHOPPING LIST
Pulled all the shiny tat off the Shovel but then bought some shiny Invaders which isn't at all the look I had in mind. Also got a Pan tubular swinging arm which is, so not sure of a direction at the minute. All my inspiration (this week) has come from photos of bikes from Luck-MC in Japan, low, understated brightwork, small high mounted tanks, tons of style.
Anyway I have a shopping list; I need
Forks, Ironhead Sportster 35mm disc type legs and yokes and possibly a decent 19" front wheel. NOW SORTED THANKS BRYAN.
Rear wheel spindle for early round swingarm.
Original kickstart lever.
Plain clutch cover (Derby cover). SORTED.
Pair of standard rear side mounting struts for rear guard. NO LONGER NEEDED
Exhausts like this, think they are usually listed as late 60s FL, separate pipes as pic or a 2-1 would do...
..and anything else you think I should have.
Of course it may be that a Shovelhead project is on someone elses' shopping list, in which case drop in and save me a load of work !

IF LOOKS COULD KILL
Bought this last night, the seller told me it is called Sheeba (the Shovel), he also has a Beach Buggy called Beryl and a motorhome called Marianne or maybe it was Millicent, i was loosing interest fast by then and there were still another two bikes to go...
It may be a fine example of American grotesque but it runs sweeter than pudding wine and, er, well that's all. If there is anything you want off it let me know but i'm guessing that if you are reading this Blog the only parts you will want are the ones I'm keeping.
Live to shop.

I can vouch for this bike, it's lovely. £2,750 (about the same price as decking yourself out in the new Matchless clothing range) and you'd better be quick. Phone Paul direct on 07719 487436.

FARMER JOHN
John is a local guy who's been buying Slabside GSXR parts off me for a few months for a bike he is restoring. He invited me to go and see the bikes he's built over the years so I went for a look yesterday. Each one has its own story and all apart from the trials AJS were built/restored by him. At least two were bought in the village pub, the green A7 in boxes for £100 ! maybe I should get out more. He has owned the '63 Bonneville for over 40 years.
He went to the TT on the Lightning Clubman three years ago but with increasing years (he's even older than me) finds it hard to start them now so his riding is limited to an Aprillia Mille R and a Fireblade....

XJR REVISITED
I bought this XJR1300SP in 2002 (did I really own a 2 yr old bike ?) lightly bent after a brush with a wagon. I straightened it out, modded it a bit, rode it for about a year then sold it to a guy in Northumberland. Last week I spotted it on eBay, he'd done 800 miles then sat it in his office since 2006, time for repatriation. With the Akra' system, Dynajet kit and filters it is quite quick for a lardy thing. I like it, I may even keep it for a bit...........but you know where I am if you fancy it !

WEST COAST TRIUMPH
That's west coast Australia. Wayne originally from Scotland sent an update on his pre-unit 650. the frame broke in half so he made a few alterations at the same time.... Morgo barrels, GP carbs (carbies apparently), rebuilt girder, new wheels etc. then he had a beer in the sun.
