As a young lad my dad used to take me to local Hillclimbs at Castle Howard but probably the first motorsport event i ever went to on my own was a 2 mile push bike ride to Crook Farm at Wrelton. For years i had been able to hear the racing from our back garden so it must have been a big day to finally get there. It was a narrow rough track on a hillside, this is the only photo i can find from that era, taken in the late '60s.
