LOVELY BETTY
New recruit arrived this week. '86 Slabside GSXR1100, frame originally done for Jack Frost (Holeshot Racing) then raced by Craig Mallabone until it blew up in 2004. At that time i bought the remains of the 1340 engine which i ran in Ugly Betty. The bike was later used by Shane Wogan in Ireland with its current Wayne Little big block motor until a couple of years ago. Most of the parts in the current motor came from me at the time.
Having been stood for a while it needs a bit of a freshen up and a paint job but hopefully first outing should be at Kirkbride at the beginning of April. First job is to convert it back to right hand drive, Shane lost his right arm a few years back so operates everything with his left hand. He currently races a Turbo Hayabusa, competitively !
Very nice Pete all the right bits is it a 2 stage nitrous on it. If you take it to the Pod or Long Avon Shakespeare raceway will have to pop up for a look
ReplyDeletelooks like you could have a few giggles on that
ReplyDeletePete i have seen Shane race the hayabusa at St Angelos airport in Enniskillen its amazing to watch him handle the bike, that bike you have there looks like a handfull best of luck with it,
ReplyDeleteIt has a Schnitz nitrous controller Kev so its really as many stages as you want, when i find out how to use it...
ReplyDeleteYep if i all else fails Rob we can just take the bottle off and have a laugh.
Thankfully i have two hands to fill Ed !
Bloody hell I am out of touch remember when the 2 stage came into regular use Trevor somebody can't remember the surname did really good kits and wrote a good book on nitro. By the way Pete do you remember Krazy Kat super stock Katana then went super street in a new chassis.
ReplyDeleteTrev Langfield from Doncaster, he's still about but does more car stuff nowadays.
ReplyDeleteYea Krazy Kat, was that Carl Larcombe, i think i sold the engine out of Ugly Betty to the guy who owns it now if i remember rightly.
Langfield yep that's the guy. Yes Kray Kat was Karl's bike I crewed for him when it was in the super street class
ReplyDeleteHi Pete, we met a Rollerburn, with the Montesa custom. I see you manage to do regular posts on your blog, well done I just forget to update mine. Is that Kirkbride in Cumbria, if so can you let me know when? Thanks.
