The Isle of Man is possibly not the best place in the world right now. No racing to watch on TV so heres a great (and not at all biased) film from 1969, or is it ?
With or without those oversize Yanky exhaust thingies, te he he, hardly bised mate, they smashed it. I think a lot of fans of the 'approachable' marque tend to forget that, [even if they were from Small Heath], and they set records as well if I remember correctly. Great find mate, love it !!
Great footage Pete, I like the bit at the end, and the rider having a well earnt fag at the end of the race. Cant imagine many of todays types sparking up a Lambert & Butler, I may be wrong!
I say there were some cracking birds in that moving picture. Did they used to race in the other direction( i dont mean backwards i mean anti clockwise)?
on old TTs the pits are on the left, of the riders and there is a tight, downhill right, hairpin, under the cover of trees. Now when i see the TT, the pits are on the right and the hairpin is a tight, uphill, right. ive never been to the Isle of man so maybe that explains why im so confused.!!

It was actually 1971, when smoking was compulsory. Pickers got the birds but never rode anti clockwise Rob, why ?
