Had no interest before it started, got into it over time and we did well. The athletes did more in their time than the footballers have done since 66. (I don't follow football) The cynic in me thinks it may come to nothing, especially as Cameron sells off playing fields one week then think it's a good idea for kids to play more sport the next. It'll be interesting to see where things go in the next 12 months.

its also about bloody time that schools start pushing kids towards engineering and creating rather than the invisible world of IT. Then we could be great again.

As Oily Rag said we could be great again. Trouble is we are governed by out of touch toffs without a clue of the real world. We need more Jo Public in Gov't who have been round the block a bit.

Well guys, as an Aussie who grew tired and embarrassed by our some of our whinging swimmers and idiot vandal rowers early on but came back to it by the track and field, bikes etc, it was a brilliant games. The design of the courses, particularly bmx, whitewater, mountain bike, plus the main arenas were bloody wonderful and the finale, especially Rog and Pete was outta this world . . . still a great nation of people and ideas, OK UK, absolutely !!!
