Jon sent this photo from the Handlebar in Singapore where he "found himself" last night, i don't think he means spiritually. Panhead beer or Margheritas mixed by a 4 stroke engine, also sent me a link to his mate Shaun's webpage, some clever stuff going on here.

HAYRIDE 2010 (PART 1)
The sun shone, the tats were out, the bikes were great and the cars were awesome. Met loads of people and took tons of photos but due to 12 hours on the beer/cider/lager on friday i cant remember peoples names and the majority of my pics are junk 'cos i was shaking like a shitting dog. I was really made up by the folk who came up to me and introduced themselves as keen readers of this blog its great to know i am not just typing for my own gratification. The whole event was superb, more photos tomorrow if i can find enough worthy of publishing...

PHOTOGRAPHY
I am not a photographer, i have a little point and squirt Cannon Ixus which is almost always set on auto and i just click on things i like. Mostly the results are amateurish at best but every now and then i get one i am pleased with. This was Jimmy Monk's Panhead at Linkert Attacks last weekend at about 3.00am sun morning. We all rode out for a beer late saturday afternoon and when we came back he stuck it against the wall and left it there, i waited for ages (2 minutes ?) for the car to go but it didnt, thats how dedicated i am !
I know it isnt very sharp and technically it is most probably shit but i like it.

THE BUCKROSE VAULTS
In 1979 i was working from a unit at the rear of a garage in town doing car bodywork (badly) and every lunchtime half a dozen of us went to the Buckrose Vaults pub for lunch comprising of a pint or two of Tetleys, game of pool, burger and chips and some sounds on the juke box. Inquisitive as to what was on the B side of The Skids "Into the Valley" i put it on, then put it on again, and again. It got to the stage the barman and local drinkers (it was that sort of pub) would greet me with "Tetleys ? and if you put that fucking record on again yer barred". It didn't work.
In the 80s Skids front man Stuart Adamson formed Big Country another of my favourite bands of the time but sadly comitted suicide in 2001. The Buckrose Vaults also is no more having been shutdown in the 80s by the brewery as unprofitable and thankfully i no longer have anything to do with car paintwork.

Photo shows the Skids in 1978, but they did a final gig this year in Scotland led by original member Richard Jobson and they are still playing Albert Tatlock as it became known.
So lunchtime drinkers everywhere turn up the jukebox, here's
TV Stars and for the purists here is
the original version
Im off for a game of space invaders.

SPIKE JONES AND HIS CITY SLICKERS 1949
Who's that a-knockin', knockin at my door
It's Gopher Annie, the girl you adore
Gopher Gal, you've changed somehow
Do I look like a cowgirl?
No, like a cow
Bill, you like the perfume i got in my hair
Is that the perfume you always wear?
No, this is different, it's more alive
What do you call it?
Corral number five
Gal, I can see you've been a'ridin'
Yes of course, and I had to blindfold the horse
Blindfold a horse, you're crazy in the head
If he sees what he's carrying, he'll drop down dead
Gal, I loves ya, deep down inside
And I've been needin' a wife since old Kate died
What, stop staring, why don't you propose?
I can't find a ring the size of your nose
Used to sing this with my mate Tig late on Saturday nights (or any other nights) at the Crown Inn a long time ago, and for some obscure reason i can still remember it ! He always had to be Annie. God knows where he is now....
