RUST PROTECTION

Guy and i went to Bonhams sale at Harrogate today but instead of coming home with just the usual amazement at how much people will pay for rusty shit i actually bought something. Not a shiny Sunbeam or an artistic masterpiece (seemingly painted by a blind child) but a box of '70s helmets with TT history and how long is it since you saw a Turbo visor ?
More of the day on Instagram (Greasykulture and Eattherichuk) .
Helmet collectors have your bidding fingers ready....

* Update. The 1923 Deemster, top pic, made £3,700, the '36 Bentley £13,500, the work of art £12 and the '32 Sunbeam 350 £5750, cheap.

FADE TO GREY

A sea of grey haired collectors seem to keep the over restored classic vehicle world alive by selling them to one another without ever using them, im sure a few bombed yesterday though, if it wasnt rusty it generally underachieved.

Both Speedway bikes made well under £2,000.

These glorious trucks were on the road and both fetched £6k +, brilliant for next years Hayride (with hay !)

Festering XK Jag went to a brave man for over 8 grand.

and the bike that a lot of people had gone for, a seized solid relic of a Manx with Gold Star motor made £12,075...

The full catalogue with photos and auction results is still on Bonhams
