JUMBLEBUDDIES

The best things by far about having a blog are the friends you make as a result. Almost every time i go to Newark Autojumble i am asked by someone if i am Pete Stansfield, not even sure how they know what i look like but whether i am buying or selling i end up in conversation with someone who knows whats going on at my workshop.
Yesterday as i got out of the van, exchanged good mornings and had a moan about the price of tea with the people on the next stall it soon became apparent that Andy and his friends Jim and Sal followed EtR and also have their own blog at Benchdonkees.com turns out we had all been at Sideburn's events and have a mutual appreciation of Marrakesh as well as the usual shed full of unfinished projects.
Around midmorning i was presented with a cup of the super expensive tea by Dave Bevan and his lovely lady (i am so crap with names, sorry). Daves poetry and Bantam adventures have been the subject of posts on here and on Guys GKM over the past couple of years and Dave's Gardening/Skating/Stinkwheel exploits live in a corner of Blogworld called Happy Going Nowhere We always seem to go to the same places but at different times so it was great to finally meet up.
The Trip Out's own Estelle, Loggy and John came by shortly after, having bought a fireplace, psychedelic oil tank and a stuffed squirrel (if you know them you won't even question the truth in that) . Hit the Estelle tag below, again people i met as a direct result of her pipe smoking on this blog back in 2010. The same girl put a status on FB last week saying she was shy and self conscious, yes dear.

All of this reminds me i must get round to making a new blog list, definitely do it next week.,,,

SKULLCHOPPA AND THE PORTERHOUSE STAKEOUT

Spent a great and relaxing day out in the sunshine of South Lincs and Norfolk yesterday. First visit was to Richard Millard at Skullchoppa . Its the second time i have been to his place and just as inspiring as the first, if i had all this stuff i would never go home, except it seems he has as much there as well.
Just check out those "Elvis in Vegas" saddlebags !

100 miles or so East we were at the Porter families chop and chicken ranch at Dereham where Guy was shooting Andys perfect Panhead chop for a forthcoming issue of GKM . Topped off the day with man (men) V food at the Newark OK Diner.
Every week should have days like this.

LITTLE ROBS BIG WEEK

Lilboobs Rob had a birthday this week and hasn't slept since, i dont know how old he is because he doesnt either. We had celebratory tea at Rufforth this morning. He is building an Enfield and told me about it (a lot).
A chemistry set was not a good present.

VINTIQUE

I was going to post this after chatting with Sean (Frankie) at the Trip Out and Benjo just jogged my memory. Sean rebuilt the sad remains of Vintique Cycles and is adding new parts to the store almost daily. Having been among Harleys and chops most of his working life he knows the game and isnt just another "retailer" looking to jump on the bandwagon.
Go Here and shop with confidence.

DONT STOP ME NOW

Some of you out there will know Simo (Chris Simmons) as a collector and rider of some superb vintage bikes, an all round top bloke and also someone i count as a true friend. You may not know that his 9 to 5 is as senior executive for a charity called Vitalise who organise and run much needed holidays for disabled people and their carers in the UK.
They have just made this film in the wake of the highly successful 2012 Paralympics which features the guests and volunteer workers at their respite break centre in Southport.
These are good people, if you want to know more or give them your support you can do so via their website

THE AMUSIACS

Tim (guitar and vocals) Scarlett (drums) and Co, available now for bring and buy sales and graveyard riots. My dad would have called this a "bloody noise" which is all the endorsment a boy needs. Excellent.

MY KIND OF BIKE SHOP

WEAB Motorcycles Malton yesterday. An Ironhead chop in for repairs sits out in the sun with Walt's hillclimber while a smart Viper special waits for its MOT. I would give you a link to their website but they dont have one, in fact it would be wrong if they did.

THE TIKI PALACE

A couple of weeks ago i stayed the night with Scarlett and Tim in Folkestone and took the liberty of getting a few pics of their amazing house before a wet 250 miles up the motorway. I shouldn't really have expected any less from musicians, artists, part time motorcycle mechanics and all round great people. Their place is a little museum of cool old stuff, i've not shown you the purple chaise longue, the juke box, vintage bicycles in the bathroom, seven foot home made Tiki figures and more guitars than a music shop.
If you have only come to EtR recently you may not know that Scarlett designed my T shirts and stickers, if you want similar you need to be clicking here
Thanks to you both, see you next weekend.

Zippy's Ironhead is for sale, there is none better. Full details on Bennys Blog here.
Gives me an excuse to post this photo i took a couple of years ago when Guy did the shoot for GKM.
A rubber glove, a washer, a paint tin lid and leaves freshly pulled from a tree......

JEFFORDISM

A local bloke who worked on a farm came in to my workshop one day and said he was going to build a Triumph chopper, i gave him a 10" wide Magnesium wheel off a Metro 6R4 as a joke. 9 months later he won best in show at the R&B. I have never underestimated him, i stand there saying "where did you get that from ?"  the answer is always "i made it", see that gearbox casing ?.... This is Vic Jefford's Carousel, hopefully ready to blind you at Beaulieu Custom Show in June. I dont want to say you 'aint seen nothing yet, but you 'aint seen nothing yet. This will be the best show bike ever built in the UK. Not kidding.
