DJ's Z1

DJ Kinsley sent some photos of his newly restored 70's Z1 Drag Bike that his dad found in Dolan Springs, Arizona. It has a new and previously unrun motor with a Vertex mag, Denco frame, Cerianis, Hurst brakes, Phoenix slick, Tomaselli clip ons...all great period parts plus the duplex drive chain set up.

It works too !

THE VETTER RICKMAN

Robert from Livonia Mi. built the Read Titan CB750 cafe racer above and also a Rickman version that was on here a while back. When Craig Vetter saw his work he commisioned Robert to restore his old Rickman Z that was sitting in a sad state in the AMA museum. The top photo shows the finished article. The full story of the bike and the restoration can be seen on Vetters own website. Its a good read if you have a few minutes to spare.

J W MOTORCYCLES

John Warrington's here in Malton is the place for big horsepower motorcycles, he builds engines, sets them up and sorts them out....and if you bring your bike here it is he who does it, there's no staff no tea boy even, just the worlds hardest working bloke. He can and will do anything from developing your turbo Hayabusa to straightening a bent Triumph chopper frame (he has done both for me). He permanently has a several month backlog of work for loyal customers so i'm not giving out his phone number, if you need him you will know him.
His tiny workshop is a cave with no windows and the dyno room backs on to a supermarket car park where shoppers can hear strapped down bikes running at close on 200mph just a few feet from their Nissan Micra, hopefully they dont know that.

The 1500cc Z1000 in a Spondon frame was making 170+ bhp when i was there with more to come.
....and he is building himself a ZX12 engined chopper if he ever gets time.

Z FINISHED

Finished the Z yesterday, 1260, 8 plug race head and cams, 38mm Mikuni RS's, Dyna ignition. Sounds mental. Motorycles should be big, loud, fast and dangerous, this is all those things. It is for sale but it isn't cheap.

BLACK

Finally got round to doing some work on my Z this week. The previous owner was a bit of a bling queen and had spent hours polishing the Astralites, in some countries you would get a hand chopped off and your Solvol surgically removed for such a crime.
I am like Johnny with a tin of PJ1
