'ALLO 'ALLO

French people i need your help. I have a little 1950s Peugeot motorcycle that i have finally got round to doing something with. After much Googling i am thinking it is a 175cc type 57, around 1954/55/56. The frame number is 966557. The bore size appears to be 60mm and it has twin exhaust ports. Googling in English doesn't get me very far though and i am not sufficiently conversant in French to get past asking for beer. I have searched Ebay.fr but cannot find anyone selling new engine parts. Until i strip the motor i don't know what parts i need but if someone can give me the details of anywhere in France that specialises in Vintage Peugeots that would be a good start.
The only cycle parts i need are a rear brake lever and a pair of footrests and brackets.
You can mail me on tri650@live.co.uk. Your reward will be eternal gratitude, love and stickers.

THE MUTUAL BLOG APPRECIATION SOCIETY (NORTH EUROPE)

I found The Big Mama Introspection a few weeks ago when Ollie left a comment on here and have been following her blog since. Its a mix of  DJ'ing exploits in the South of France thrown in with some vintage fashion, friends and her adventures with "Little Pony" and she writes it all in English with a perfect French girl accent.....

you will be in love with her by tomorrow........

6 days and 1,400 miles on a little bike that just wouldn't die. Replaced a bolt in the rear brake linkage and adjusted the tickover. The full story later but for now i have a thousand e mails and all the usual to sort out, if you are self employed you will know that you are not supposed to have holidays !

LOST (AND FOUND) IN FRANCE

In 1968 i went to Corbie (Nr Amiens) in Northern France for a month as part of a student exchange scheme. I wasn't too happy for the first week but once i had made friends with the local lads and a girl i didnt want to leave. I smoked Gauloise, rode Solex mopeds and had hot chocolate for breakfast but didn't learn much French.
Jumping Jack Flash was the sound of the moment. Here's an out of synch Mick in '68 sounding good and looking like Mick and not a caricature of Mick.

You may not bother to watch it but i will and wonder why i never replied to Odette's letters. She wore a yellow T shirt and her mother had a hairdressing salon, if you live in Corbie and that rings a bell go and tell her i am sorry.
