EVERYONES GONE TO THE MOON (eyes)

"Arms that can only lift a spoon, everyones gone to the moon" sung Jonathan King in his rise to mediocrity in 1965. Except his arms were lifting shirts of underage boys not spoons, leading to 5 yrs of nonceness at Her Maj's pleasure for his meanderings.*

Which has nowt to do with the fact that all the movers and shakers of the vintage custom world are off to Yokohama for the Mooneyes show this weekend leaving us to sit at home promising ourselves that we really will go next year.

* JK is currently appealing, though not if that photo is anything to go by. Even if he's found innocent it wont stop him being a twat.

TUESDAY TRITON

Bought this one off a Hippy couple from Bawtry one very foggy night in the early 90s. Engine and box were sold to a guy called Neil who worked for Motolux and the rolling chassis went to Australia.

RAC RALLY

Massive respect to everyone involved with making this rally run over the last 3 days and nights in pretty excepional conditions, to the 43 crews that made it to the finish (and the ones who didnt) and to the people who took these photos.

Former works Ford driver Phil Collins was 5th and first non Escort.

Bob Bean was competing on the first rally i ever went to watch as a lad is and still competitive and enthusiastic as ever.

Local man Warren Philliskirk finished 15th.

Steve Perez finally finished the event in his wonderful Stratos.

DIRTY MAG

Scarlett has a new blogspot In case you didn't know she also produces Dirty Mag along with Simmo, a man with a wardrobe second to none.
Issue 2 out now contains a feature on Rob Laycock from Malton and his little JAP engined bike (see Robs Bike post 9th June). Rob also built the little tractor in the photo above amongst many other things.
Get the mag here, a Google search for Dirty Magazine takes you to a different place.

MORE DAD CARS

Some more of the cars my dad rebuilt and restored mostly in the 60s/70s. Cant find any original photos of the XK120 and Healey 3000 but these are the colour and models of the ones he had.
