GORGEOUS GIRDERS

Just in today. Look to be based on an original set of girders (Norton?) rather than custom fabricated from scratch. Not cheap but you do want them ....

FLASH LUGS AND THE GRINDERMAN

The Flash looks like its had at least 3 different sidestands in its life without ever getting rid of the previous one. Grinder time, i just have a problem knowing where to stop.

Twisted leg springers, assorted rear guards, chrome front guard, Goldie silencers, Banana seat, Wipac twin lights on chrome bracket SOLD, twisted chrome side stand SOLD, 6" risers, T bars 7/8" and narrow ace/Z bars 1", 2 x 4.1 x 19" TT100s, Triumph hardtail, 21" wheel, looks like little Honda hub, with Dunlop rib MH90 tyre (like 2.75 Avon), 300/19" Avon new but some cracks.

80's GS

Jam jar bottomed long faced Deirdre Barlow/Langton/Rachid and unpopular Radio 1 tennis playing toss bag homophobe DJ Mike Read lookalike poses with newly purchased GS1000 sometime in the late '80s. The bike probably stayed like this for about a week before i rebuilt and re-painted it as photo 2.
In the background is a BMW 316 in which i went to Santa Pod Euro Finals and lost the keys having to scrounge a lift home then go back (400 mile round trip) next day with van and trailer.
Paint on our workshop doors was very shiny too.

CUSTOM BIKE MAGAZINE SUMMER 1992

Tucked away in a small part of my senility are a few bikes from long gone magazines and this is one of them. Bobbits A10, i do like people who dont take building customs too seriously. Nice shiny boots too.




I dug the magazine out today and found there is also an article on Jeff Murphy's Pan. Over the past couple of years people have told me about this bike, turns out i knew it all along.

Kangol, gold metalflake, shell OK but lining poor. Probably a 58 with lining re-done. ACU sticker but i dont recon you would get it through scrutineering. £30.
CAN, probably Chinese, new and unworn, 58-60. Decent looking helmet with EtR stickers. £30
Dammtrax (Japan) silver with star and vari tint green bubble. Dice, Linkert Tewkesbury and Phsyco Wheels Osaka stickers, 58-60. Only worn a handful of times. Nice comfy lid. £65 with bubble £45 without. SOLD

Apologies for the photo (it represents the dark and dismal New Years Day here in the UK) but this is my New Year project A10 Gold Flash Desert Racer/Flat Track/Street Scrambler. Back to real EtR with this one, hopefully on the road for an all in budget of two grand by selling the parts i dont need to finance the stuff i do. Biggest expense will be hi level two down one side pipes that will be here next week, they may be a bit bright for the functional look but an open primary should help 'em bed in. More photos soon, on a brighter day.
