SPORT HURTS

Luke Burgess after a coming together with Castlefords Jon Walker last night in the Rhinos V Tigers clash. His teeth normally go in a straight line. Anyone who watched the match will know this is 100 times better than he looked as he was stretchered off the pitch. Rhinos won 38-6.
He had an operation today to fasten the three parts of his lower jaw back together, unfortunately wont be fit to play in the Challenge Cup final in a couple of weeks though.

PENDINE

We visited the tiny Museum of Speed at Pendine beach last week. It houses 5 bikes and 1 car, Babs, which held the land speed record in 1926 on the 6 mile stretch of sand it now overlooks. A year later it crashed trying to break the record again killing driver Parry Thomas and was buried on the spot. In the late 60s it was exhumed and restored and has even been driven on the beach again.
The OEC JAP streamliner of Bob Berry was also used for record attempts in the early '30s.
Pendine sands were the home of many motorcycle races right up to the early 50s, hard to imagine up to 20,000 people spectating at the Welsh TT in its heyday between the wars.

IM OFF

Family holidays to South Wales tomorrow, hope its not like last year.

Back Saturday 14th.

ALI NORVAL

If there is one bike i would always buy at the drop of a hat its Ali's. He has had it for ever having bought it as a standard GS1000 and gradually built it into what you see here. Powered by a 1216cc (though it maybe 1340 by now) GSXR oil cooled motor on Nitrous he used to compete in Straightliners rounds when i first began 7 or 8 yrs ago but since starting his own business, Eastway Motorcycle Services in Anstruther he competes mostly at Crail. Everything about Ali's bike is just right including how it goes.

The top photo is mine, the good ones are by MJK Photography.

THE TUESDAY TRITON

HAYRIDE 2010 (PART 1)

The sun shone, the tats were out, the bikes were great and the cars were awesome. Met loads of people and took tons of photos but due to 12 hours on the beer/cider/lager on friday i cant remember peoples names and the majority of my pics are junk 'cos i was shaking like a shitting dog. I was really made up by the folk who came up to me and introduced themselves as keen readers of this blog its great to know i am not just typing for my own gratification. The whole event was superb, more photos tomorrow if i can find enough worthy of publishing...
